shuTi - The iTunes Alarm Clock

The Main Window

shuTi - main window

This is where you set the alarms and the sleep time, there is one of each for every day of the week. The volume can also be set to a precise level to start your morning.

How to set

The day of the week can be selected by clicking on the time drop down menu in the middle (the date doesn't matter), typing in that box, or using the up and down buttons of you keyboard on the selected time or day. After you have selected the time click either the set alarm or set sleep buttons, your new alarm or sleep will appear in the list below. To turn a alarm or sleep time off just uncheck the checkbox next to it.

The Task Bar Menu

Shuti runs in the background and can be accessed from the task bar at anytime. Here are some direct access options and actions for iTunes, such as being able to select the playlist you want to listen to, play, pause, next track, previous track, show the main or options window, and check for purchases. It also displays the current track, artist playlist, and running time.

Options

shuTi - Options

Here can set other options such as do you want visuals to start your day (wake up in a hypnotized state) and what playlist you want to wake up to. You can also iTunes to play normal, shuffle, repeat playlist, or play your morning anthem over and over again until your up. If you check "Start with Windows" shuTi will always start when you turn on your computer so you don't forget to turn it on. "Minimized at Startup" will keep shuTi hidden when started, don't worry you can still access it from the task bar.

Open/Close Options

shuTi - Open/Close Options

Here is were you can set the programs you want to turn off at night and turn on in the morning. I suggest not selecting anything that you don't know what it is, though I have taken care to filter out most of the important programs running.

Check for Purchase

shuTi - Check for Purchase

This is where you can set up shuTi to check for purchases from the iTunes store. Comes in handy since most shows are put up on there server in the middle of the night. To make sure this works, you have to have iTunes set to remember your password. An easy way to do this is buy a song or video and check the box that says remember password. There is also an option here to sync your iPod a while after purchases are downloaded.

At the moment iTunes has to be running for this to work, I will be adding an option to fix that in the next release
